You are SO golf
"If you dress all in black and wear dark make-up you are so golf." - Julia
Which leads to the question asked by a FB friend: "What are you called if you wear plaid pants and collared shirts?"
Something to ponder for the weekend.
Happy Labor Day! Stay safe.

At least your better than mom!
On the way to school, Osias was texting his boss (which is illegal).
Olivia: Dad, you better stop that you are going to get in trouble.
Osias: I know, but it's my boss. I have to answer him.
Olivia: Dad, stop it. You're going to run into the back of someone.
Osias (in his mad voice): Stop it, Olivia! I have to finish this text.
Olivia (sighs): Well, the good news is at least your better at it than Mom.

Discovering Locally
I recently noticed that there is an old covered bridge 15 minutes from my house. So Sunday afternoon, we went out to explore! It is so beautiful and such a neat piece of history. There are only 19 covered bridges in KY, 16 are within an hour of our house. I am planning a trip in the Spring to look at more. It always amazes me the fantastic workmanship of this old bridges.

Fun Recipes to make with Kids
Both Samantha and Olivia had cooking projects due for school, so we got on the internet and found 2 winners. I just wanted to share them with you.
For Samantha's class, we had to make something that would be made or eaten in the southwest. My requirement was that we were able to make it ahead of time because anyone who knows me will tell you, I am NOT a morning person and this had to be ready at 8am. So, we decided on tortilla cookies. Here is the recipe:
Julia's kindergarten class is having a pumpkin tasting party. The teacher wanted to have as many different varieties of pumpkin foods as possible. I wanted to stay away from the pumpkin pie, rolls or bars. Well, I found this great recipe for Cold Pumpkin Soup. The recipe says that it can also be served as a thick punch (like Egg Nog).
(Wouldn't it be cute to use a large pumpkin as a punch bowl at a fall party!)
Both recipes are very yummy! I hope you enjoy!!
