Carlisle Christmas Parade

Our family went to the Carlisle Christmas Parade tonight. The snow

made it a very cold night, but it was fabulous! It is so wonderful to

live in a place where no one is afraid to say Merry Christmas and

the stores on Main Street have Nativity Scenes in their front

windows. Almost all the churches had floats in the parade, there

were two girl scout floats, and tons of antique cars and tractors.

There were also horses with lighted wreaths around their necks

and horse drawn carriages.Almost every float threw candy to

the kids and I was pleasantly surprised that the girls saw so

many kids they knew from school. And what Christmas Parade

would be complete without Santa!

Tomorrow, the Christian Church in Carlisle is having an Open

House to come and "Visit the Town of Bethlehem." There will

be shop keepers, Mary & Joseph in the Manger and a petting

zoo. We are planning on taking the kids. I think anything we

can do to remember that we are celebrating Jesus' Birth is a

great way to spend the Christmas Season!

I love small towns and the friendliness of the people. The parade looked fun for the girls! Your family is blessed to live in Carlisle and experience all it's wonders! Shame to those who blog and make fun of KY and us simple people. Glad your family is appreciating good times with good people-simple is not so bad!

How fun. I love your Christmas background - and love the family picture! You guys are excellent at making great memories for yourselves. That sounds weird, but I think you know what I mean. Those kinds of things - fun activites, memory-making - bond families together in such an important way.

Nice to be somewhere that the TRUE meaning of Christmas can really be celebrated and people are not afraid of the gospel of Christ. :) Sounds like you all are doing well! Merry Christmas!
